Change Fatigue

Change Fatigue

While facilitating the webinar on “Maintaining a Healthy Relationship System while Delivering Results,” Sindiswa and Cecil shared four trends they have observed in workplaces, and the challenges these present to leaders and their teams. Here is the fourth and final one: Change Fatigue.

POLYCRISIS – SAY WHAT?

The term polycrisis denotes a situation where multiple crises, interconnected in some way, converge to create a sense of impending doom. The magnitude and complexity of contributing forces of change leaves many feeling overwhelmed, unable to engage enthusiastically with even modest change projects.

People are saying they are being bombarded with initiatives like:

  • Implementing new systems, often glitchy and frustrating, to get their work done
  • Coping with their own household budget pressures
  • Learning new ways of working in the age of AI
  • Surviving pressure from economic and political events
  • Participating in organisational transformation programs
  • Adapting to strategic, leadership and structural changes
  • We’d love to hear your thoughts.

What are you noticing? What strategies do you have for coping?
