LeaderLab in Accountability

One Major Shift

For many leaders, the notion of Accountability is an inviting but elusive dream. They think …

  • Our results could be spectacular if we all focussed consistently on achieving the goals and KPI’s we set every year
  • It’s so amazing (and a bit rare) to find people taking responsibility for doing what they’re assigned, and more, to support our strategies
  • I’d love to get everyone on the same page when it comes to delivering awesome work

While there is no formula for ensuring Accountability is a reality in an organisation, there are powerful tools that make all the difference.

One Major Shift happens when leaders step back from getting individuals to step up and focus instead on creating a culture that enables accountability.

Insights You Will Take Away

  • The conditions in the organisational environment that make accountability possible, sustainable, and psychologically safe.
  • The mental and emotional architecture that shapes accountable behaviour, from a neuroscience perspective.
  • The impact of the accountable leader, with honest reflection on how you show up, and where the real leverage points for your One Major Shift

Besides the theoretical framing, you will have the opportunity to test your own ideas, and leave the lab with a concrete, context-specific plan for cultivating a Culture of Accountability in your team or organisation.

The Learning Journey

The work session on 24 July won’t be your standard webinar. It’ll be an interactive working session. In addition, there will be some pre-work, a practical assignment, and a follow-up conversation on 14 August.

Over 3.5 immersive hours in the work session, you’ll explore accountability from the inside out – unpacking the neuroscience that drives (or derails) accountable behaviour, identifying the essential ingredients that make accountability thrive in teams and organisations, and examining what this means for you as a leader.

What a LeaderLab is

First, what it is not… many leadership programs provide excellent content with well-researched theories and models. This may provide great insights and a stimulating mental challenge, but does not necessarily translate to action and results.

Now, what it is… our LeaderLabs provide a structured learning environment where leaders can think freely about leadership ideas, then practice, experiment, and refine their capabilities through real-world applications and challenge each other.  The LeaderLabs are an environment where leaders can interact without fear of judgement or career-limiting consequences of real-world failures.

The learning activities provide opportunities for self-reflection, fresh thinking and robust peer interaction. Participants practise real leadership behaviours, rather than just learning about them in theory, and get honest feedback from fellow leaders as accountability partners.

Ultimately leaders leave our LeaderLabs having gained new insights, practised new capabilities, created action plans, and established habits for leading real-world change that delivers results.
